Valve has released its suite of in-house publishing and development tools - the same ones used on Half-Life 2 and The Orange Box - for free on its Steam download network. Steamworks will be available for all PC games distributed via retail and Steam-like online platforms, Valve said, and will be downloadable as one big bundle or piece-by-piece.

January 29, 2008 Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announce Steamworks, a complete suite of publishing and development tools ranging from copy protection to social networking services to server browsing is now available free of charge to developers and publishers worldwide.
Steamworks, the same suite of tools used in best-selling PC titles Half-Life 2 and The Orange Box, is available for all PC games distributed via retail and leading online platforms such as Steam. The services included in Steamworks may be used a la carte or in any combination.

Nexon America Inc. ( MS Global ) has released the 4th job today worldwide for MaplyStory within many other new features like the new designed map and a bunch of new quests.
MapleStory is largely celebrated for its lively and energetic community, evidenced by the millions of quirky and colorful characters, abundant guilds, comical YouTube manifestations of Nexon's MapleStory commercials, and a hyperactive forum complete with users who post photos of self-concocted MapleStory-themed desserts and costumes among their many posts. It's MapleStory's compelling and deep game play which drives new and existing players to the MapleWorld. The addition of the 4th Job provides further depth to an already intricate and complex game.
Players will appreciate a new meter, which will show how many hit points it will take to defeat an enemy. Items will also be easier to use with the automatic item organizer and a new world map should help Maplers have a better sense of direction while traveling the heavily-populated MapleWorld.

EA has launched a brand new website regarding a new generation of the Battlefield series. Entitled: Battlefield Heroes. All previous battlefield games must to be buyed, but this one is free.
Battlefield Heroes is a brand new game from the team behind Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2. It's fun cartoon-style graphics and gameplay caters to players of all skill levels. It is easy to pick up and play but with robust character customization and a deep online meta-game, gamers can spend hours building up their characters and conquering the world.
We put a different twist on this Battlefield game going with the cartoon-style graphics and gameplay, added Ben Cousins, Senior Producer at EA DICE. There's something here for all types of players -- be it our core Battlefield fans or casual gamers. With the new online model, we will continually add new content to keep the game fresh and keep players engaged, while integrating player feedback in real time. As a game developer, it is such a cool new way to make games.
